Episode 3.3 - Novajade's Hodgepodge Consortium [41:33]
July 31, 2007 05:54 PM PDT
Title of mix: "Frontal Lobe Funk, vol. 1" ::: This was my official debut mix album that I put out in 2005, and now for the first time, it is available for free and online! I was fortunate to sell a lot of copies grassroots and at a community store in downtown Los Angeles for a while, but moving forward, I wanted to bring it to the masses, so-to-speak. It meant a lot to me to put together, as it also was a project I worked on for music school and I devoted a lot of time and thought into telling this story - my story. It's message is simple: let's all focus on being ourselves and push forward as a community of people, no matter our differences. Blur the lines, let's live in peace... And let's create more win-win situations for all. I hope you enjoy it! ~NJ* PS: If you are looking to support the album and wish to purchase a hard copy cd (with all the tracks indexed), click the PAYPAL button on the lower right-hand side of this page and enter a minimum $5 donation (thank you!). Make sure you leave your snail mail address in the comments section before you complete your transaction, so I will be able to ship the cd to you! email: novajade@podomatic.com

About TeraIn 2003, she was given the gift of a pair of turntables, a mixer and some headphones. During 2004, Ms. Greene - the singer/songwriter - opened for Nina Sky at the 3rd Annual ERA Productions/102.7 KIIS FM Make-A-Wish Foundation Showcase, located at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California. In addition, she performed at the Celebrity Centre, Fais Do-Do and the "2nd Premier Showcase", (directed by Lauren Patrice Nadler), which brought her together with dir. Douglas Elford-Argent. Culminating with her ASCAP affiliation, Tera launched into the 2005 year with gusto! Nova Jade - the dj/producer - released her debut mix album entitled Frontal Lobe Funk in the late spring of 2005. A graduate of the Recording Artist Program (RAP) at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California, Ms. Jade spent the summer of '05 spinning sets every Tuesday at the now-defunct, 24-hour gym right across the way from her alma mater, Groove Fitness. She also spun at the 1st annual Serafemme fest, dj'd Meshell Ndegeocello's listening party, and has spun occasionally at Pomona College's Tuesday night function, Table Manners. She has started production on her new self-produced LP, Elite High, which will be a blend of spoken word, song, beats and acoustic vibes. In the fall of 2006, Ms. Jade can be seen on MTV's "Little Talent Show".
